Norcal Team Comp Results

NCTCLarry

Here are the top five teams who completed the WOD as Rx'd:

CFO Team One-11:16
CFO Team Three-11:21
CFO Team Two-11:30
CF Silicon Valley Team Two-11:57
CF Silicon Valley Team Three-17:00

Out of the 20+ teams that participated, we fared quite well.  Only 41 Seconds separate us from top rank!  Truly every second counts.  A big thank you to CrossFit Oakland for hosting such a grand sporting event.  We look forward to more "Sport of Fitness" events as the year progresses.  Events like these help bring the best out of each who participates.  The thrill of competition, and the pressure to perform our best builds tremendous mental fortitude. We learn more about ourselves and how to better handle stress. CrossFit Silicon Valley can only get better and better as we grow together and suffer through the WODs together.

We will continue to practice and train hard to raise our game, lessen the chances of injury and to perform our very best not only with CrossFit but with the rigors of life.

Remember, we will host the next NORCAL TEAM COMPETITION on Saturday, March 7 @ 12PM.
We will announce the team breakdown soon.

CrossFit One World Ice Fishing Tournament

IceFishing

The tourney is on 1/31/2008. Registration starts at 6:00pm. The drawing for the brackets is at 6:45pm. Fishing starts at 7:00pm. Buy in is $10. Winner takes the entire pot minus 10% given to the high scorer for the entire tournament. Winner also takes the Fish Tournament Belt...pictures forthcoming!

This is a pot luck food event. One World will supply utensils, plates, napkins, water, and a keg of beer (cuz you can't fish without beer). There will be a jumper for the kids.

FISH TOURNEY RULES:

Names will be drawn from a hat for bracket matching. Some people may get a bye in the first round. The final eight will be seeded based on high score from the round of 16. The top seeds in the round of eight, four and two will get first choice of rower. Any malfunction of rower will result in the fisherman rowing on the same rower his opponent used. This is a friendly and fun event. If you are a sore loser, don't bother fishing!

  • Live on top of the FIT chain. CrossFit Silicon Valley coaches unite to transform your physical existence. Impassioned, we survive on the top of our game utilizing the CrossFit Method. Whether it is grappling, fire fighting or gardening- we strive to improve your performance to elite levels.

  • "Fitness in 100 Words"- Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and NO sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics:pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstands, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports!
